Fire Alarm Service Engineer

Due to continued business growth an exciting opportunity has arisen within our engineering team for an experienced fire alarm engineer covering the Norfolk and Suffolk area, with occasional work in other parts of East Anglia. We are dedicated to promoting respect, understanding and appreciation amongst our employees and we are seeking a diverse individual who has the desire to sharpen and build upon their existing skills within fire detection system.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in the servicing and fault finding of fire alarms and emergency lighting systems. Some experience of fire extinguisher servicing, access control/door entry systems and warden call systems would be an advantage, however not essential.

Responsibilities

·         To service and fault find fire detection and emergency lighting.

·         Working with customers and management within the company

·         Provide a quality service

·         Attending to daily service callouts

·         Work unsupervised managing work load.

·         Cover 24 hour call-out (currently one week in three)

Required Skills

To be eligible to apply for this position you must satisfy most of the following:

·         Have a proven track record with fire detection and emergency lighting

·         Hold a professional qualification, City and Guilds electrical installation or equivalent

·         Worked on both conventional and addressable systems

·         Possess good fault finding and diagnostic skills

·         Is able to make sure installation's service and maintenance is kept to standard regulations and follow company policies

·         Has a wide range of product knowledge with systems such as Gent, Morley, Menvier, as examples

·         Programming experience would be an advantage, however not essential

·         Working knowledge of British/EN Standards BS5839 and PD6662 for example

·         Health and Safety Trained.

·         Is able to work on a call out rota currently one week in three

·         Team player with excellent interpersonal & communication skills

·         Hold a full UK Driving licence

·         Pass a 10 year security screening with no criminal record and agree to a credit check which is now part of the security screening.

Additional Information.

Hours: 37.5 hour week Monday to Friday 8:00 to 16:30 plus overtime

Salary: £18,000 to £28,000 OTE Salary will depend on experience and qualifications

Type: Full Time. Permanent

Probation Period: Completion of three months probation will depend on performance and successful security screening.
